I recently got to witness the birth of my newest daughter Karissa. It's always a sentimental moment (this is my 3rd time to see it)….but even more than sentimental….it's fascinating. I guess the scientist in me is amazed to watch a human being be pulled out of another human being. I’ve heard it said that no one could witness a live birth and claim to be an atheist. I agree. I would also say that I don’t see how anyone could ever witness a live birth, and support abortion. It’s unthinkable in my mind.
Karissa’s head was almost completely out…..everything but her face. As I waited for my wife to give that one last push…..I thought about the butchery known as “partial-birth abortion.” I realized that at that moment if my wife and I had “changed our minds” we could have asked the doctor to just kill Karissa instead…..and she could have done it…legally. I know that some states have laws against late term abortions…..and some states have laws requiring a “health of the mother” clause for abortions…but we all know that many powerful people in this country are fighting daily to see that ALL abortions…including partial-birth abortions are legal, protected, and sometimes even encouraged. One such staunch defender of this unimaginable horror is a man named Barack Obama. And last week he spoke at the largest evangelical Christian church in America, at the invitation of their world famous pastor, Rick Warren…….It’s a sad day for “Christianity” in America.
I recently ended a blog with a somewhat “tongue in cheek” comment about Illinois Senator Barack Obama being the anti-Christ. I’ve also written in the past about mega-church pastor Rick Warren’s damage to the cause of Christ because of a “watered-down” gospel he espouses. (Click here to read that blog.) Now, these two have joined forces to fight AIDS. On December 1st, at his church in Los Angeles, Rick Warren handed the pulpit over to Obama as Warren hosted his 2nd Annual Conference on AIDS.
First I’ll address Obama. I think he may be the most dangerous person in America. If you aren’t familiar with him, you soon will be…in fact there’s a decent chance he’ll soon be your President. What do we know about him? Well, he’s liberal….make no mistake about that. He supports gay marriage and has voted extensively to defend abortion (even partial-birth abortion). He scares me, because he’s almost like a politician created in a laboratory. He’s got the perfect American success story. His dad was a goat herder from Africa. His mom was a white Kansas farm girl. (Obama is half black and half white). He was Ivy League educated. He’s friendly and charming and charismatic. He’s young and handsome and suave. He has literally come out of nowhere in a political sense, being elected U.S. Senator in 2004….and he gave one of the keynote speeches at the 2004 Democratic convention…..and what’s scarier is: many Christians will support him for president. In fact many “Republican” Christians may support him for President.
Recently I read an article written by Obama in a liberal Christian magazine (Sojourners)….this “Christian” magazine also had an article attacking George Bush for his faith and another article praising Al Gore….so you can see what brand of “Christian” the magazine is. Anyway, Obama says some things that Conservatives will definitely like. For example, he’s not opposed to public displays of religion. He thinks “people of faith” should be allowed a voice and he thinks the Democratic Party needs to do more to “reach out” to Christians. He has also defended the rights of religious groups to use school facilities….and he’s made comments defending the phrase ‘under God’ in the pledge of allegiance. Obama himself claims to be a Christian, and has decided to step into the fray of American politics and bring peace and unity to both political sides. He uses phrases like “reconciliation” and “compromise” and “bridge the gap.” He’s a “uniter” who promises to mediate between far left liberals and far right conservatives…..he’ll encourage both sides to “give a little” and finally bring peace to our country….and I believe, he’s a full-blooded wolf in sheep’s clothing….and he’s dangerous….VERY dangerous to America. You have to read through his rhetoric carefully because he’s smooth, but listen to this quote about God and politics: “Politics depends on our ability to persuade each other of common aims based on a common reality. It involves the compromise, the art of the possible. At some fundamental level, religion does not allow for compromise. It insists on the impossible. If God has spoken, then followers are expected to live up to God's edicts, regardless of the consequences. To base one's life on such uncompromising commitments may be sublime; to base our policy making on such commitments would be a dangerous thing.” Did you catch what he said? Religion doesn’t really make room for compromise…which is exactly right. If God says it, we should do it. He says obeying God is “sublime”….but to actually make decisions for our country based upon God’s edicts would be dangerous. DANGEROUS? OBAMA THINKS IT’S DANGEROUS FOR A NATION’S LEADERS TO FOLLOW GOD! Let me offer a counterpoint….I think it’s beyond belief dangerous for a nation to NOT follow God. And electing Obama is just one example of that.
When Obama spoke at Warren’s church he received a standing ovation for his comment that we can best fight AIDS by distributing more condoms. Abstinence is sweet and all…..but since its not realistic let’s bombard Africa with prophylactics and then praise ourselves for our compassion. Great solution Barack! Actually, I would think watching someone die a gruesome death from AIDS would be a pretty good motivation for abstinence. Here’s another thought….maybe we should actually spend time and money TAKING THE GOSPEL to these people and see if the Holy Spirit might inspire some abstinence. The government will never do that….but what about Saddleback Church?
Here’s the problem with “social gospel” Christians, like Warren. He wants to fight AIDS in Africa. That’s good. That’s commendable. That’s a genuine need that I would support. But what about the gospel? Obama’s church in Chicago is also a “social gospel” church. They brag about fighting poverty, and preaching world peace, and looking out for the poor…..but in all their “good deeds” they never get around to sharing the gospel. Liberals see no need to, since everyone’s going to Heaven anyway. But what on Earth is an “evangelical” like Rick Warren thinking?
I believe that Rick’s success has gone to his head. I’ve never agreed with Warren’s church growth views….but in the beginning his goal seemed to be winning people to Christ. Now, it seems his goal is to save the world (and make a name for himself in the process)….and fighting AIDS is one way to do it. A few years ago Rick came out with his world P.E.A.C.E. plan. It was a cute acronym where every letter stood for something his church was devoted to. Of course Rick wants to usher in world peace, fight AIDS, destroy nuclear weapons, save the environment, bring peace to the Middle East, make a 7 year treaty with Israel, sacrifice a pig in the Temple….(whoops, ignore those last two…just a little “End Times humor”). Anyway, the “P” in Rick’s PEACE plan stood for “planting churches.” Now THAT sounds like a good idea. Fight poverty and AIDS, but do it by planting gospel-preaching churches in the area. Of course, now Rick has somewhat subtly changed the “P” from “planting churches” to “partnering with other religious organizations.” OH, isn’t that interesting? What does partnering mean? And what KIND of religious organizations? Christian? Muslim? Hindu? Barack Obama Liberalism? Rick’s invitation of Obama seems to indicate that he’s unconcerned with a person's religious views….as long as you oppose AIDS. That’s scary.
Rick defends his invitation of Obama saying that the conference is on AIDS and that they both agree on this global tragedy. So Rick is willing to look past Obama’s ardent DEFENSE OF CHILD MURDER for the sake of AIDS. Well, it’s no secret that I oppose homosexuality……so does Osama bin Laden. What if I had a conference opposing homosexuality and invited bin Laden to speak? Would there be an outcry? HEY, I’m willing to look past his desire to murder every American on earth….after all, we both agree that homosexuality is a sin. That’s a ludicrous line of reasoning….but it’s the same line of reasoning Warren uses.
In 2008, if Obama runs for President, he will need some Christian votes. We all know the drill in a general election. The South votes Republican, the Northeast and West vote Democratic…..the “battleground” states decide the election. You just wait, and see the campaign ads that’ll be plastered all over the Bible-belt of Obama, hand-in-hand, with his buddy Rick Warren. You watch and see all of the Christians who adore Rick and will vote for Obama because of their connection. You watch and see what happens if Obama gets elected and starts appointing judges with a Democratic controlled congress. Judges who support abortion and gay marriage. Rick Warren’s big head will swell even more to have his old chum in the White House…..knowing he was partially responsible for getting him there.
I think Rick really stepped over the line this time…and I’m not the only one. I’ll leave you with a few links to some very thought provoking articles on Rick and Obama. And by the way, in case you haven’t heard…Barack Obama’s middle name is Hussein. He’s tried to keep that hidden for some time, but it’s becoming known. What does that prove? Nothing. But I’m not voting for Barack Hussein Obama for anything…..certainly not President. I hope you don’t either.

This link is an article from Ingrid Schlueter of VCY America. At the beginning of the article she has a link to click on and see a photograph of a baby that was “partial-birth aborted.” I ASSURE YOU---YOU DON’T WANT TO SEE IT! But I think everyone who supports abortion…or supports politicians who support abortion should look at it….and see what they’re voting to support. Click here for the article. Don’t worry, you won’t see the picture unless you click on the link at the beginning of her article.

This link is an article from World Net Daily entitled, Why is Obama's Evil in Rick Warren's pulpit? Click here for the article. You can also read about Rick’s recent visit with the President of Syria in which Rick praised Syria for their support of religious freedom. Yeah Rick…they’re right up there with the Taliban. Click here for this article.

This link is to an open letter from several Christian leaders including Phyllis Schlafly and Janet Folger, urging Warren to rescind his invitation to Obama……of course Rick ignored them. Click here for the article

ALSO---For those following my Kansas City Star escapades.....yesterday (12/8) the Star published a letter opposing one of the men who opposed me. It's a good letter....click here to read it.
I have always thought how strange it was that Obama seemed to come out of nowhere like you said and then become so popular. He is very scary indeed and yet so slick that he draws people to him. And how sad about Rick Warren - he certainly needs prayer that he'll repent. Thanks for keeping us informed.

I appreciate the update on Obama. I have a hard time seeing some of our 'good ole boys' going in his direction though. I think this is where you'll see an upsurge in urban voters. He is indeed scary.
