Great blog, shane, sadly repentance is not always preached, and even when it is, alot of times its taught as something we must do ourselves rather than God granting us repentance. im not saying we should not turn from our sins, but that We must depend on God (Faith) to do so. if we teach that we must turn from our sins, then the response will be okay, i will do that. but we must also teach total depravity, no hope of changing ourselves. i think what the america church lacks the most is humility. perhaps the greatest Gospel message for amirica is "humble yourself before the Lord and He will lift you up." or "call upon the name of the Lord and you will be saved." repentance is missing, and at the core of the problem is a lack of desperate dependance on God for it. In fact i seldom come across someone saying they had to pray to be convicted. this is it. Lord convict me or i'll never change. thats saving faith.
